Il semblerait que les Forces Canadiennes vont peut être remplacer leur arme de précision (sniper) qui est la C3A1 ou Parker-Hale Model 82 par la C14 Timberwolf SWS.
Le texteCanadian snipers have been well served by the C3A1s but these rifles are worn out. Parts supply and maintenance became problems. The C3A1s were also eclipsed by technological developments in the field of snipers rifles. In October 2001, new sniper rifle designs began trials at CFB Gagetown. The outcome of those trails was the CF’s new C14 Timberwolf Medium Range Snipers Weapon System. The MRSWS is now entering service where it will phase out the tired C3A1. However, the old C3A1s carry on. There are C3A1s in action in Afghanistan and snipers preparing to deploy practice with both C3A1 and C14s. But such rifles are hand-tooled examples of the gunsmith’s art. Precision wanes with wear and they must be replaced.
